MESSAGE

My research focuses on exploring effective interventions for the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases globally from a health economics perspective. I am particularly interested in assessing the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and health economic evaluations using microsimulation modeling.

NARRATIVE CV

Eiko Saito is a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute for Global Health Policy Research (iGHP) under the Bureau of International Health Cooperation at the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM). She received her Doctor of Philosophy in Health Science from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Her main research area is microsimulation modeling to assess the impact of healthcare interventions in extending quality-of-life, life-years gained, future healthcare costs at the individual, household, and national levels. She is also interested in health economics and epidemiological research using individual-level data and household survey data. She has a strong background in quantitative analysis in medical and social statistics, and its application to global health. She is also experienced in conducting and analyzing large-scale household surveys in the area of household consumption and medical spending in low-income settings.
