My research focus is on the epidemiological studies of cancer and cardiovascular disease in lessdeveloped countries.

NARRATIVE CV

Miyuki Hori is a Senior Researcher of Institute for Global Health policy Research (iGHP) of National Center for Global and Medicine (NCGM). Her research interests include prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and chronic diseases not only in developed but also less-developed countries.

Previously, she worked two years as a project researcher of National Cancer Center (NCC) in Tokyo. In NCC, she conducted research by using a large-scale of prospective cohort study on lifestyle and NCDs among Japanese. This experience in NCC brought her attention to prevent cancer for general population. Her current research interest is also to find the Heated Tobacco Product (HTP) prevalence among elderly people as well as the association between HTP use and cancer risks.

She received her PhD in medicine from the Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine in 2016, and Master of Science in Nursing from Nagoya City University in 2008. In addition to research experience, she has four years of experience as a nurse in public health center and total of three years of experience as college teaching assistant.
