【Paper】A new paper authored by Dr. Okawa was published in the BMC Public Health.

This online cross-sectional survey was conducted among 8,292 workers aged 18 – 64 in 2023 in Japan. The survey revealed that the percentages of tobacco dependency and hazardous alcohol use were 11.3% and 17.9%, respectively. Those who worked remotely < 1 and ≥ 1 day per week (compared to those who did not) was positively associated with tobacco dependence and hazardous alcohol use. These findings suggest the need for careful monitoring of the health behavior of remote workers.
